Tasting note: Rich magenta colour. Powerful, intense, black fruit and cherry aromas with lovely fragrant aromatic notes. On the mouth, this wine is in perfect harmony with beautifully balanced fruit and tannins. Rich, elegant, luscious black fruit flavours. Enormous concentration with again this attractive scented quality coming through. Long rich finish. Very stylish.

Reviews: "Among the most saturated blue/purple/black-colored examples of the vintage, Taylor's 2000 tastes like a young vintage of Chateau Latour on steroids. Aromas of graphite, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis and smoke jump from the glass. Spectacularly concentrated and enormously endowed, with sweetness allied to ripe tannin, decent acidity, and layer upon layer of fruit and extract, this is the leading candidate for the port of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2040." Parker, Wine Advocate 2002.

"An opaque black/purple hue. The nose has certainly shut down since tasted a couple of years ago. But its immense power and focus are tangible with notes of black cherries, black olive, raspberry coulis, cassis and violets. Wonderful sense of tautness and tension on the palate, belying the rigidity of the tannic structure that will see this Taylor's last many decades. There is an awesome sense of finesse and balletic poise to this port with lovely melange of blackberry, raisin, black cherry and fig lingering long after the wine has been expelled. Such vibrancy and verve. A regal Taylor's befitting the millennial year. Leave for a generation-or two. Tasted November 2007." Neil Martin, Wine journal 2008
