97 Points Robert Parker

In 1927, Mario Braga, creator of the project “Quinta do Mourão”, was born. So too was born this amazing wine, bottled 90 years after as a tribute to their beloved father. Miguel Braga, the current owner, has handcrafted traditional wines, made and aged in the original estates in the Douro. This gives the wines a distinctive flavour profile. The Douro profile is more intense, dark, thick, sweet and spicy, with more intense aromas. With the release of a small number of aged tawnies, the market for these wines amongst aficionados has developed markedly in the last decade.

Colheita Port Storage and Serving Advice:
Colheita Port should be stored in a cool and dry place, sheltered from light and temperature fluctuations, and the bottle should remain in an upright position. If stored correctly, Colheita Ports will keep for decades in the bottle. Over time, it is natural that a little sediment will form at the bottom of a bottle of colheita Port wine. Once opened colheita Port should be stored in a fridge and should be consumed within 3 months. Colheita Ports do not require decanting and are best served at a temperature between 14 and 16°C.

"Deep red in colour, and very dark at 60% opaque. An attractive nose full of lovely young fruit. The fruit is rounded on entry with all the sharp edges smoothed away; big and full of vigorous fruit. The flavours grow and blossom on the tongue until it crescendos as a huge fruit burst on the aftertaste and slowly fades as a long, long fruit-led finish.
