Graham Port, 1963

Vintage Port
Description:
An outstanding 1963 Port scoring 96/100 Parker Points.

Reviews: "What a stunning 1963 vintage port this is! The bouquet draws you in, does not drag you in with its alcohol and reveals a fresh, well defined nose with a nutty edge, hints of cigar box and allspice. The palate is beautifully balanced, understated on the entry but building all the time, flashes of eucalyptus leading towards a more extrovert, clove tinged finish that hangs around the palate. Gorgeous Grahams! Tasted May 2009." Neil Martin, Wine Journal

Quinta do Noval Nacional , 1963

Quinta do Noval Nacional , 1963

Noval Nacional (in neck)
Description: Noval is particularly famous for its Nacional, a Port produced in some years only from a 2 hectare parcel at the heart of the Noval vineyard where ungrafted pre phylloxera vines survive.

"Last July I enjoyed this "legend" at Noval and consumed my share of an entire bottle that was opened for our small group of Port journalists. This VP had a very dark ruby color and was clearly from a perfectly stored bottle. The 1963 is as lithe and graceful as a trapeze artist, and showed what perfection in balance is all about. It is not easy for Port to get much better than this. Sweet, spicy, grapey, mint, big, bold, brash are all apt descriptors.

 Messias Port, 1963

Messias Port, 1963

Colheita Single Harvest Tawny Port- SINGLE BOTTLE 75cl
Description: *** 94 Points - Robert Parker ***

***96 Points-The Wine Enthusiast***

Reviews
"The 1963 Colheita Port is an old vines field blend bottled in 2014 with a long cork. Fresh, rich and bright on the finish, this has a whiff of brandy, but it is surprisingly clean and youthful for its age. It lingers nicely, finally showing all of those old Tawny flavors. Its sweet caramel nuances are especially delectable on the juicy finish, but they weren't so defined and nuanced early on. I wasn't as thrilled on the first tastes, but by the fourth day, its beautiful acidity took over and made it multidimensional.

Sandeman Vintage Port, 1963

Sandeman Vintage Port, 1963

Vintage Port
Description: ** 96/100 - Wine Spectator **

One of the great vintages of the century, and one of the best wines ever released by Sandeman. Classic aromas of figs and prunes, powerful, rich and sweet, with tremendous length.

Reviews:
"This may be one of the most underrated '63s made. Its deep red color gives little indication of the wine's age, and there is an abundance of youthful, rich fruit on the nose and palate. Full tannins and an assertive finish back up everything." 96/100 James Suckling, The Wine Spectator

The 1963 Sandeman has less of a deep-ruby/purple colour, but it does offer a spice-box, fruitcake sort of aroma, mildly sweet, medium- to full-bodied flavours, and a ripe, tasty finish.

Cockburn Port, 1963

Cockburn Port, 1963

Vintage Port
Description: Reviews:
"Perfectly integrated and showing cherry, raspberry, baker's spices and hints of fig on the nose and palate. With air the fruit became more plummy in character and picked up more complex dried fruit notes. It's sweet, but not Graham's or Fonseca sweet and there's actually some nice acidity to the wine that keeps it fresh. Seamless with the alcohol sewn into the fabric of the wine nicely." Cellar Tracker 2012

'Bright ruby red. Full rich red chocolately spicy aroma. Ripe rich round slightly hot fruit on the palate'. Cellar Tracker tasted 2005.
Rating 94/100 (CT)

Krohn Port , 1963

Krohn Port , 1963

Colheita Port (Sold under Arnsby's Port brand).
Description: Colheita Ports are single year Ports of a high quality level which have to be matured in wood for at least seven years. Normally they are bottled just before they leave our cellars, which may happen much later than the 7th year of age. For this reason, Krohn Colheita Ports generally remain in wood for long or even very long periods, and acquire with time the characteristic mahogany colour of the old Tawnies, a fine and complex bouquet, a nutty character and a silky texture.

While remaining in the cask, they have to be regularly submitted to the reapproval of the Portwine Institute. On the other hand, after having been bottled their labels have to state the vintage and the year of bottling.
