Quinta do Noval Port, 1999

20 year Old Tawny Port

Description and Reviews:
This port is extremely complex with aromas and flavours of roast almonds, dried fruits, nuts, vanilla, spice and tobacco.

"Orange-tawny color the 20 year old by Noval is a generous step up from the 10 year old bottling. Delivering a more profound nutty essence, particularly cashews on the nose along with mandarin orange and spice, I really liked this Tawny. Medium-bodied initially, by the third day it had gained more weight as well as a more profound finish. I noted the mouthfeel was extremely smooth and pleasurable along with the warming, clean aguardente. A fine counterpoint between the nutty and citrus realm with a toasty caramel note and slight char to the aftertaste which added another dimension. Very enjoyable." 92Points Roy Hersh, For the Love of Port

"An elegant, delicate Tawny, with a full raft of dried white fruit, toffee, cream and butter flavors. The bright finish offers pear tart and spice notes, with suave, smoky overtones."92 Points Wine Spectator

“Glistens with scents of sweet William and deeper tones of apricot and nectarine fruit leather. Savory wood spice layers the fruit and lasts. The flavors have some bounce, an elasticity that keeps the wine fresh and transparent.” 92 Points Wine & Spirits Magazine

“Offers an amber color, a spicy, tobacco, cedary, smoky, complex nose, dense, rich flavors that belie the color's aged, feeble look, and an expansive personality. It is a classic example of how delicious and complex a 20 year old tawny port can be.” 91Points Wine Advocate

"Comparing this against the 10-Year Old, the aromatics are a little tighter and more reticent with scents of autumn bonfire, walnut and a touch of smoke and then a little brine. The palate is medium-bodied, finely balance, a little leafy and spicy, very elegant towards the clove-tinged finish. I find this understated and classy. Drink now-2025." 91Points Neal Martin, Wine Advocate
