Taylor's Port, 1927

Vintage Port

Description and Reviews:
Taylor’s 1927 vintage port is one of the most sought-after and expensive of all vintage Ports, and this wine, from an acclaimed vintage, is at the top of the tree. Released at 'just' 20 pence a bottle in 1929 much of the stock remained unsold due to large volumes and economic depression. Now nearly one hundred years later, this is one of the most sublime and most sought after ports.

Critics reviews:
95 Points James Suckling. " This blows the '35 off the table. It is incredibly concentrated yet superbly balanced. It lives up to Taylor's lofty reputation. Medium ruby-garnet, with intense raspberry and blackberry aromas, full-bodied, with rich, velvety, ripe raspberry flavors and a long thick, rich finish. It will continue to improve with age." Score: 95 James Suckling, WineSpectator.com, January 1989

95/100 Alex Bridgeman - The Port Forum: "Mid red in colour, mature and 40% opaque. Big and expressive on the nose with subtle hints of rosemary. Sweet and delicate fruit on the palate, gentle and subtle yet with a real liveliness and pepperiness. Combining elegance and power in a most impressive manner. The finish was incredibly long. This was absolutely delicious and very, very alive. 95/100." AHB Jan 2017.
