The 1992 Quevedo Colheita is an outstanding quality and value effort from this family-run estate. Oscar and Claudia Quevedo have produced a light brown port with hints of amber. On the palate there are nuts and a lovely light molasses note with coffe and spices The finish is long and lingering as befits a quality port such as this. Outstanding!

The 1992 Burmester is a beautiful mature tawny colour. On the nose it has cocoa, chocolate together with a hint of mint. On the palate this is quite complex - medium bodied with a perfect balance between the acidity, tannins and flavours, there is a little spiciness in the mouth that adds to the experience. The Calem 1991 Vintage Port has a dark core with a tawny edge. It has an impressive and intense nose that is also complex. Figs, raisins with a little almond and vanilla on the nose .
The figs carry nicely into a light palate with resolved tannins. It has great fruit acidity that really works into a medium aftertaste. Rating 89/100 Excellent (VWP/TC Tasting jan 2021). Decanted 4 hrs.

Morgan Brothers Port was a company founded by a London merchant that moved to Oporto in 1715. It remained in the Morgan family until 1952 when it was purchased by Croft. In 2001 Croft Was sold to Taylor Fladgate and the name was retired.

A rare bottle of 1991 Morgan Vintage Port. The 1991 has an impressive colour and a pleasing nose of pepper, spice, earth, black truffles, and black fruits, suggest a developed, forward character. Full bodied and in harmony. Very good 89/100 VWP (TC).

Vintage Port

Rich ruby color that is nearly opaque. It presents notes of strawberry, molasses and others mentioned root beer which I did not really get, but thought was worth noting. This Nacional displays excellent concentration and structure, with medium to full-bodied juice. It possesses young blackberry fruit with a unique balsamic component, and shows its fine balance and some powerful tannins that will allow this wine to age for a few decades. This single vineyard 1987 vintage Port from Kopke has a medium garnet colour. Excellent bouquet of red fruit and candy floss. Sweet with good balancing acidity, with notes of caramel and a long finish. Bright red colour with a golden rim. 1985 was an outstanding vintage for port and the Calem does not disappoint. The port shows a beautiful and intense garnet colour with ruby highlights. The nose denotes intense aromas of red berries, black cherry, prunes and cinnamon spice. On the palate this is drier style than most of the the English shippers. This 40 Year old tawny Port is a dark tawny colour with with green hints on the rim. Huge complexity of aromas, from nuts, to sweet dried fruits and at a certain point, it smells like honeycomb. On the palate it is thick and intense, with the dried fruit coming along and it never finishes.
