This is a lovely port gift set celebrating 40 years in 2017 and comprising of a bottle of 1977 Messias Single Harvest tawny and a Messias 40 Year Old tawny port. Both wines come beautifully presented in a mahogany double deluxe gift box with wine accessories as illustrated.

1977 Messias Colheita/Single Harvest Tawny Port:
The Messias colheita port from the outstanding 1977 vintage has been aged in a barrel until bottling this year.
The extended barrel ageing has given this wine a complex fusion of dried fruit and cedar notes. On the palate the wine is smooth and full bodies with plenty nuts and sweet fruit on the palate, fine balance. A tremendous finish which goes on. There's no question about the quality on display here. This will store well for many more years.

Messias 40 Year Old Tawny Port:
Very pale amber/tawny/orange colour. Fine and delicate aromas of hazelnuts and candied citrus. Quince marmalade character, delicate in style, with finesse and poise. Seemingly quite dry in style towards the finish (not as obviously rich as some here), and supremely refined.
