Devesa 10 Year White
The NV 10 Years White Port was bottled in 2020 with 114 grams of residual sugar and a bar-top cork. Not showing anywhere near as sweet as the residual sugar statistics would suggest, this does still seem very rich. It is not a style that is as bright and lively as some, but there is more intensity of flavor than most. It has bitter chocolate and caramel nuances, sometimes seeming more Tawny-like. It adds some grip on the finish. July 2020 (Mark Squires)

Devesa 10 Year Old Tawny
The NV 10 Year Old Tawny Porto was bottled in 2017 with a bar-top cork and 109 grams of sugar. In fact, said the winemaker, this has more than 10 years of average age. This seemed a little creamy on opening, but it ultimately showed its power and its structure, evolving nicely and finishing with grip and tension. This is a 10 that emphasizes complexity. It is nicely done. July 2018 (Mark Squires)

Devesa 2016 Late Bottled Vintage
The 2016 LBV displays sensational scents of chocolate cookie dough, mocha, wintergreen and freshly picked wild berries, milk chocolate, chili spice, grape Nehi, and wintergreen gum. In the mid-palate, a seamless presence, an intensity and a terrific mouthfeel that provides greater pleasure. The palate has pleasant notes of boysenberry, black currant and herbal essence. Very nice, long boysenberry and minty finish.

Devesa 2018 Vintage Port
The 2018 Vintage Port is a 50/30 blend of Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca, with the rest Sousão, all aged in old balseiros (large upright barrels) for one year. It was bottled May 21, 2020, with 115 grams of residual sugar. Sweet and light on opening, not showing much concentration, this does better with structure. It has some serious pop on the finish, eventually overwhelming the sweet fruit. There's a real backbone. The next day, it had fleshed out a bit too. That's just what it needed in order to shine. It had notably improved and was downright impressive, the mid-palate now coming closer to balancing the pure power. This has a lot to offer—and a lot more than I thought on my first tastes—but it needs some time to make its case better and demonstrate that all its parts are in balance. There were 3,000 bottles produced..***92+ Points - Mark Squires (eRobert Parker)***
