Quevedo Port reflects the heart of the Quevedo family, rooted in tradition, innovation, and a deep respect for the Douro Valley. For over 100 years, the family has poured passion and expertise into their craft, with siblings Oscar and Claudia Quevedo leading the charge to balance heritage with modern winemaking.

At the core of Quevedo’s philosophy is a commitment to sustainability and quality. Their 112 hectares of vineyards in São João da Pesqueira are cultivated with care, ensuring each bottle of Quevedo Port captures the unique essence of the Douro Valley. The family believes that great wine is a harmony of nature and craftsmanship.

The launch of the Quevedo Port brand in 1986 marked a bold step forward, as the family transitioned from supplying merchants to sharing their wines directly with the world. Today, Quevedo Port embodies the family’s values of integrity, hard work, and connection, producing ports that are consistently acclaimed for their depth and authenticity.

10 Year Old White Port
90 Points - Robert Parker

Aged White Port is one of Quevedo’s pride. This White Port, rated as outstanding by Wine Advocate, was crafted by blending a selection of Quevedo’s best aged Ports averaging 10 years.
Tasting Notes:
The Quevedo 10 white port is golden-amber in colour with an aroma of dried and candied fruits like mango and apricot, plums, raisins and quince. On the palate there is a lovely balance between the fruits, sweetness and acidity. The wine develops on layers of flavours between the candied and dried fruits, the acidity combines with some bitter notes due to the slow oxidation in cask to bring nerve to the wine before leaving us on a beautiful complex finish lingering on spicy notes.

White Colheita Port
Exclusive - New stock arriving shortly - available for pre-order for delivery early April

Quevedo 1986 White Colheita Port

The Quevedo 1986 White Colheita Port is an exceptional and very rare example of long-aged White Port from the Douro Valley. Drawn from a single harvest and matured in seasoned oak casks for many decades, it shows the extraordinary complexity that patient cask ageing can bring to the traditional white grape varieties of the region.

Unlike many historic Port houses that matured their wines in the cooler lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia, the Quevedo family have traditionally aged their Colheitas at the family winery in São João da Pesqueira in the Douro Valley. The warmer inland climate promotes a deeper oxidative evolution, producing wines of notable concentration, structure and aromatic complexity.

2018 Vintage Port from Quevedo: A very limited quantity was produced with the best grapes of the 2018 harvest. Bottled 2 years after the harvest, the Vintage Port will keep developing inside the bottle and your patience will be rewarded after a few decades.

2018 was a roller-coaster of a year with an exceptionally wet spring followed by a summer punctuated by heatwaves. Whilst not a general declaration, the ports we have tasted are excellent. Quevedo, who have several prime vineyards, each with their own micro-climate, were able to select the best grapes to blend into their vintage and the result is a port worthy of its declaration.

Oscar and Claudia Quevedo have recently declared their 2020 Quevedo Vintage port. This follows their acclaimed 2017, 2018 and 2019 vintages.

The 2020 harvest across the Douro was the smallest this century and when coupled with production and manpower issues caused by the pandemic, many producers did not declare. Those that did such as Quevedo and a few others, produced some amazing Ports that are rich, structured and deep that will mature over decades.

We first tasted this in April 2022 at the Big Fortified Tasting, It was very rich, round and thrilling. Dense and pure with a backbone and firm structure.
