Warre's Vintage Port
Warre’s has been leading the Port trade since it was established as the first British Port House in 1670.
Warre’s Vintage port wines combine elegance, length and balance whilst still retaining the underlying rich opulence of great Vintage Port.
This unsurpassed style is derived from the inherent characteristics of Warre’s two principal vineyards: Quinta da Cavadinha and Quinta do Retiro Antigo. They complement each other very well. Cavadinha’s location, aspect and altitude translate into a cooler ripening cycle providing the freshness, fine subtle floral aromas and ideal acidity, the latter contributing significantly to the wines’ longevity. Retiro Antigo’s location in the hotter Rio Torto Valley, combined with the fact that just over 70% of the vineyard is made up of old, mixed vines, results in wines that show great intensity, concentration and complexity. Their powerful structure also provides great staying power.

Warre's Vintage Port, 1922
Vintage Port
Exceptional Provenance
These bottles of Warre 1922 Vintage Port was taken from a house in Halifax associated with the Holdsworth family who were big in textiles at the turn of the 20th Century. The cellar has remained closed for 60 years until the new owners opened it to discover a treasure trove of wines and Ports including many bottles from 1922 and 1947. All of the Port has been undisturbed and stored in cool conditions. The colour is exceptional for wines of this era.

Tasting note
Warre’s 2017 has bright floral aromas of roses and violets, typical of the Touriga Nacional and also of rockrose, which is a feature of the Touriga Franca. On the palate the wine is full and plummy with amazing concentration and buoyant freshness delivering flavours of black cherries and blackberries. Layers of complexity are gradually revealed with a remarkable full-bodied structure. …

Warre's Vintage Port, 2006
Quinta Das Cavadinha Vintage Port in presentation box
A 2006 vintage port wine. Warre’s Quinta da Cavadinha is one of the finest vineyard estates in the Douro and produces outstanding wines that are used to make Warre’s Classic Vintage Port.
Tasting Note: Very dark, almost opaque, in colour, with intense black fruit aromas, this wine is both compact and mouth-filling but at the same time, smooth and elegant. Irresistible now but with a long life ahead. of it.
In non-declared years the best of the estate’s wines are bottled as single quinta Vintage Port. These wines share the same characteristic Warre’s style, with fine elegance and lifted floral aromas, but more closely reflect the unique characteristics of the Cavadinha vineyard. …

Good level | plain label
Warre’s Vintage Port 1963 is one of the standout Ports from what is widely considered one of the greatest declared vintages of the 20th century. Alongside other top houses like Dow, Taylor, and Graham, Warre produced a wine of remarkable elegance, structure, and longevity. In the glass, Warre 1963 typically shows a clear garnet or tawny color with brick-like edges, a testament to its long bottle ageing. The nose is refined and complex, offering layers of dried cherries, rose petals, figs, old leather, spice box, and a subtle touch of orange peel. …
