For the chocolate lover, the intense, spicy blackberry nose and flavor is like feasting on warm, molten chocolate filled cake with a heavenly fruit sauce. The burst of fruit in the mouth-filling palate carries through soft tannins balanced by good structure to a lingering dark berry finish. “full throttle with excellent balance and a very, enjoyable finish with virtually no sign of tannins. Kopke Port is the oldest port house. Established in 1638 by Nicolau Kopke and his son Cristiano, who came to Portugal as representatives of the Hanseatic League, the House has been run through the generations by several representatives of the Kopke family, obtaining an excellent reputation for its wines.
