Description and Reviews:
An elegant 1975 Verdelho Madeira from Cossart Gordon, the oldest Madeira house, founded in 1745. Made from the Verdelho grape, this mid-dry style offers a perfect balance of vibrant acidity and layered complexity, matured slowly in oak casks over decades. An exceptional bottle for 50th anniversaries, refined gifts, or collectors of rare fortified wines.
Tasting Notes Amber in colour with golden hues. Aromas of hazelnut, orange zest, figs, and sea-spray minerality. The palate is bright and complex, with marmalade, roasted almond, and a touch of spice, finishing with lifted acidity and impressive length.
Cellarage & Serving Store Upright. Cossart Gordon Vintage Verdelho 1972 should be served slightly chilled at 14–16°C. As the wine is completely stabilized, it is recommended to pull the cork at least 2 days before enjoying this wine. Decanting will help remove any deposit that may have occurred in bottle over time. Excellent with foie gras, savoury terrines, or roasted nuts. Also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses or fruit-based desserts.
