Delaforce Port, 1991

Quinta da Corte Vintage Port

Description and Reviews:
1991 Delaforce Quinta da Corte Vintage Port

The 1991 vintage produced a number of attractive and well-structured Ports, and this Quinta da Corte bottling from Delaforce offers a fine example of single-quinta character from the Douro. Now with over three decades of bottle age, it is entering a lovely stage of maturity while retaining freshness and structure.

Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby-garnet in colour with slight bricking at the rim, the nose opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, damson plum and dark cherry, layered with notes of violets, cedarwood and gentle spice. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, with supple tannins that have softened over time. Flavours of black forest fruits, fig and subtle cocoa unfold alongside hints of liquorice and dried herbs. The acidity provides balance and lift, leading to a smooth, warming finish with lingering notes of dark fruit and spice.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Decant carefully to remove natural sediment and allow the wine to breathe before serving. Best enjoyed slightly below room temperature. A classic partner to blue cheeses such as Stilton, chocolate desserts, or enjoyed on its own as a refined after-dinner glass.

Summary:
A well-balanced and maturing single-quinta Vintage Port from 1991, offering depth, elegance and classic Douro character.
