Dow’s 2013 Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port

The 2013 Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port comes from one of the most celebrated estates in the Douro Valley. Quinta do Bomfim, situated in the Pinhão Valley, has long been recognised as a cornerstone of Dow’s finest Vintage Ports. The 2013 vintage followed a cooler growing season, resulting in wines of excellent balance, freshness and aromatic precision.

Deep ruby in colour, the wine opens with expressive aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum, layered with notes of violet, dark chocolate and a touch of spice. On the palate it is rich and concentrated yet beautifully structured, with firm tannins supporting flavours of dark forest fruits, cocoa and subtle hints of licorice.

The finish is long, elegant and finely balanced, showing both power and freshness. This is a classic Bomfim Vintage Port, combining depth and structure with the estate’s hallmark finesse.

Approachable in its youth but capable of long ageing, the Dow’s 2013 Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port will continue to develop complexity over the coming decades.

Food pairing: Excellent served after dinner with blue cheeses such as Stilton, dark chocolate desserts, or simply enjoyed on its own at the end of a meal.
