Amazing vintage wine from the year 1860 same year that Abraham Lincoln was elected president in America and the year that the telephone was invented.
This old-styled Madeira, apparently delicate and almost fragile in its structure, gains a lot with age. In their youth they might appear more simple sometimes but age adds complexity and depth.
Shakespeare referred to the wine of the Madeira as precious essence, in his piece Henry IV.
