Description and Reviews:
The 2000 Graham’s Vintage Port is a landmark declaration from one of the Douro’s most opulent houses, combining plush fruit, polished structure and impressive longevity. A superb choice for cellars and special occasions alike. Drink now or hold – best from now through 2055/2065+.
Tasting Notes: Deep, opaque garnet with a youthful core. Classic Graham’s aromatics of blackberry and black cherry, cassis and plum compote, violets, liquorice and cocoa, with hints of mint/eucalyptus, clove and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied and richly textured, layered with dark fruit, chocolate and sweet spice. Ripe, fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity keep the generosity in balance, driving a long, seamless, fruit-and-chocolate–laced finish.
Serving Tips & Storage Stand upright 12–24 hours, then decant gently to remove sediment; allow 4–6 hours to open. Serve at 16–18 °C on its own or with steak and blue-cheese sauce, game dishes, mature blue cheeses (Stilton, Roquefort, Gorgonzola) or high-cacao artisan chocolate. Once opened, enjoy over 24–48 hours. Store bottles on their side in a cool, dark place, away from light and vibration.
Graham’s (founded 1820, owned by the Symington family) is renowned for an opulent, aromatically expressive style that ages majestically. Fruit is drawn from flagship Douro estates including Quinta dos Malvedos, Tua, Lages and Vila Velha, yielding Vintage Ports of depth, sweetness and finesse — qualities on fine display in the outstanding 2000 vintage.
