A powerful and beautifully structured vintage Port from the exceptional 2016 declaration, this wine reflects both concentration and elegance.

Appearance:
Deep, opaque purple-black core with a narrow violet rim, indicating youth and intensity.

Nose:
Highly aromatic, showing layers of ripe blackberries, cassis, and dark plum, intertwined with notes of violets, rock rose, and subtle hints of cocoa, spice, and schist minerality.

Palate:
Full-bodied and richly textured, with dense black fruit flavours supported by firm, ripe tannins. There is a striking freshness balancing the wine’s power, with nuances of dark chocolate, licorice, and spice developing on the mid-palate.

Finish:
Long, persistent, and structured, with fine tannins and a lifted acidity promising excellent ageing potential.

The winemaker Carlos Alves comments:
"A deep black colour. An intense and complex nose, laden with very ripe black fruit – plums, blackberries and cherries. Notes of cocoa, black pepper and a soft hint of violet. Unctuous and vigorous, it has several layers of flavours, firm tannins and excellent balance between sweetness and acidity. A long, deep and fresh finish."
