Burmester 2019 LBV
The 2019 Burmester Late Bottled Vintage Port has an attractive and intense violet colour. Fresh and delicate nose, where notes of wild fruit are combined with balsamic notes of eucalyptus and mint. On the palate it is velvet, soft and structured, integrating the steam of the wild fruit with a long and delicious finish.

Quinta das Carvalhas 2018 LBV - 90 pts Robert Parker
Deep garnet in the glass, it delights with rich notions of mulberry, blackberry, cocoa and baking spices. Sweet, round and mouth filling with a good depth of fruit.

Messias 2017 LBV
The Messias LBV from the excellent 2017 vintage has delicious black fruit aromas on the nose with notes of intense blackberry at the front. In the mouth there's good concentration and firm tannins. The opulent fruit carries this port into a satisfying finish.

Palmer 2017 LBV
This superb Palmer LBV 2017 made by Barao de Vilar, is a blend of full, rich and fruity wines of a single year which has been specially chosen for ageing from 4 to 6 years in oak casks prior to bottling. The grapes were foot trodden in granite lagares and stored in large oak vats called tonels. This LBV Port is deep in colour, violet, dark red and purple. Very good concentration of mature dark red fruit aromas, with a very typical predominance and blackberries, black cherries, plums’ jam and cassis. Elegant and smooth, Palmer's 2017 LBV Port has a great balance and finesse and a very long and fruity finish.

Enjoy your LBV port at a slightly cool room temperature (around 16-18C) on its own or pair with cheeses, chocolates, and desserts.

The Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) category was invented as there was a gap in price and quality between the simple ruby style and the vintage style. Usually known simply, as ‘LBV’, Late Bottled Vintage Port starts life in exactly the same way as a Vintage Port and can provide an excellent, earlier-drinking alternative. LBV is made entirely from grapes harvested in a specific year from a variety of vineyards but is then left to age in barrel for four to six years before bottling, compared to around 18 months for Vintage. While these ports do not have the grandeur, intensity and concentration of Vintage Port, the finest examples boast mature, well-rounded, velvety fruit and a rich, smooth finish. On the label, both the vintage and the bottling date must be shown, and ‘Late Bottled Vintage’ must be clearly stated to avoid any confusion.
