10 year old Tawny Port **91 points Wine Enthusiast**
Description and Reviews:
The Messias 10 Year Old Tawny Port is a blend of wines that have been aged for an average of ten years in oak barrels, which imparts a rich, complex character to the final product. Tawny ports, in general, are known for their smoothness and nutty flavours, and the 10-year aging process enhances these characteristics, adding layers of dried fruit, spice, and caramel notes.
Tasting Notes Golden amber with hints of mahogany, reflecting its aging process. Rich and complex aromas with bags of spice, caramel, marmalade, nutty and fig flavours. Wonderfully viscous and warm on the palate, it delivers a fully textured and well-structured river of dried fruit flavours. The finish is long and satisfying.
Serving & Food Pairing Tawny Ports are ready-to drink and do not require decanting. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 12-13ºC they will work wonders if pairing with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, like hazelnut praline.
