2015 was an excellent year in the Douro, with a very dry growing season and lower than average rainfall. A dry winter was followed by an atypically warm spring, allowing grapes to ripen fully in time for harvest in late August. The Vintage is made from a blend of grapes from old vines grown in the Quinta de Ervamoira (Douro Superior) and Quinta do Bom Retiro (Cima Corgo). Grapes from Quinta de Ervamoira produce powerful wines with great structure, fruit intensity and body. Flavours such as crystallised fig or plum are present in the wines, which will have silky tannins to support the ripe, concentrated fruit flavours.

On the other hand, fruit harvested from Quinta do Bom Retiro provides extreme complexity, elegance and refinement. The Cima Corgo region is cooler than the Douro Superior, therefore Bom Retiro’s wines are fresher, with aromas of violets, cherry and apricot, supported with a savoury balsamic note. The result of blending wines from the prestigious Quinta de Ervamoira and Quinta do Bom Retiro vineyards is a Vintage Port with exceptional concentration, complexity, balance and, above all, freshness.

Only 8,000 bottles were produced.
