A 50cl bottle of 2011 vintage Colheita Port Wine from Palmer Port.
This is exclusive to Vintage Wine & Port.
This port has been aged in seasoned oak casks since the 2011 harvest until bottling. This 2011 colheita is an outstanding example of an aged tawny.
Tasting Notes: The 2011 Port from Palmer shows a deep tawny, evolving from its initial ruby red due to the aging process. On the nose it is aromatic and complex, with notes of dried fruits (figs, dates, and raisins), toasted nuts (almonds and walnuts), caramel, and a touch of spice. Smooth and well-integrated flavours of dried fruits, honey, toffee, and vanilla, with hints of oak and spice from the aging process. Has a long, rich finish, leaving a lingering aftertaste of dried fruits and subtle spices.
Best served slightly chilled, around 12-16°C (54-61°F). Use a Port glass or a small wine glass to enhance the aromatic experience. The wine is ready to drink and does not require decanting. The bottle should be kept upright and protected from direct sunlight. Pairs wonderfully with almond tart, crème brûlée, or dark chocolate. It also complements aged cheeses such as Stilton, Roquefort, or mature cheddar. Or, you can enjoy with a selection of roasted nuts.
