Vintage Port

Quinta de La Rosa is a small estate in the heart of the Port wine-growing region in Alto Douro, near Pinhao, owned and operated by the Bergqvist family.

The Quinta and its vineyards were given to the Bergqvist family as a Christening present by the Feuerheerds, who established the property in 1906.

It remains one of the few Single Quinta where the vineyards start at the bank of the Douro and rise 450 meters to the towering top of the mountain. The fundamental principle for us is that if we have a wine that we believe is of the quality and personality required to be bottled as a Quinta do Noval Vintage, then we should bottle it and declare it, whether or not we declared a Vintage the year before, and even if the quantity of wine involved is very small. Nose: Rounded, generous, with a light, balanced, vinous touch. Wood aromas: vanilla and old Port casks. It is of the fruity, tawny type.
Palate: Smooth and full bodied on the palate. From an initial unctuousness, there appears a fresh, soft fruit, finishing with a light, acidic, woody note.

Attractive brown-tawny colour, with amber halo. Elegant and complex, presents spicy aromas, standing-out the dried fruits and the elegant notes of wood and honey. Smooth and round in the taste, shows its complexity upon the essence of intense dried fruits flavours. Excellent finish.

Nutty aromas are followed by a soft and sweet style of wine. It has just enough acidity and wood aging to keep it vibrant. Sweet fruits and molasses flavours give a smooth, attractive and fresh wine.

Dows 10 Year Old Tawny Port has a deep russet centre with a distinctive garnet edge and a hint of amber and bright aromas of red cherry and almonds with toffee and vanilla notes balance the nose.
